Ghent, 14.01.2025 – Agaris is proud to announce the acquisition of a new factory and logistics site near Elbląg, Poland. This significant milestone marks a new chapter in the company’s growth journey and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the growing media industry.
The new site spans an impressive 13 hectares and is strategically located to serve as both a logistical hub for existing peat products and a foundation for the development of peat-reduced and peat-free products. With Agaris' current factories operating at maximum capacity, this investment provides the necessary infrastructure to support the company’s continued strong growth in Poland and further positions Agaris as a leader within its industry. With this new site, Agaris Horti operates 8 production sites: 2 in Belgium, 1 in France, 1 in Latvia, and 4 in Poland.
“This expansion in Poland reflects our vision and aligns perfectly with Agaris’ strategy to invest in the future, while keeping our customers at the heart of everything we do,” stated Philippe Gysen, CEO of Agaris. “I would like to thank all colleagues for their dedication, hard work, and collaboration - essential factors that made this growth possible. Together, I look forward to building on our success with ambitious investments and innovative solutions.”
The acquisition of the Elbląg facility builds on a series of strategic investments by Agaris, including the setup of wood fiber installations in Poland and France last year. In addition, substantial environmental upgrades were implemented across most sites, alongside initiatives focused on zero harm and business intelligence. These efforts highlight Agaris' commitment to driving innovation across its operations. Recently, the company further strengthened its capabilities by installing a big bale machine at its Ghent plant and upgrading equipment at its facilities in Latvia and Seilles (BE).
Looking forward, Agaris remains committed to expanding its product portfolio to meet customer needs while embedding sustainability at its core. The Elbląg site marks a significant milestone in this journey, strengthening Agaris’ position as a leader in producing innovative, high-quality, and sustainable growing media.
As Agaris sets its sights on an ambitious 2025, the company will publish its first sustainability report in the following days, presenting data, company policies, targets, and actions on key ESG topics to all stakeholders. The company is eager to tackle future challenges and continue achieving outstanding results, with the new factory in Poland set to play a pivotal role in this dynamic phase of growth and innovation.
