Horti-BlueC is an inter-regional research project studying how commercial strawberry and tomato cultivation can be made more sustainable by, for example, using local, circular and renewable raw materials in the substrates. Agaris is, as the only substrate producer, one of the 9 International partners involved in the project.

In December 2020, at the Agaris Myco Ukraine plant in Vilya, Ukraine, production of phase 3 substrate was launched. Agaris Myco has already completed third stage of the expansion of its Ukrainian composting plants. Within last two years Agaris has increased its’ production capacity of phase 3 substrate by 300% in Ukraine.

By pursuing RPP certification, Agaris produces peat in a responsible manner. RPP assures that peat is not coming from peatlands with high conservation value, that the surrounding areas are not affected by peat extraction and that the bogs are rehabilitated to their natural state after extraction.
